Positive Life Affirmations

Published by Julie Anne Byrne on

If our minds can accept as truth the critical thoughts we tell ourselves, surely it can also accept as truth our positive affirmations

Positive Life Affirmations

Choose your positive life affirmations wisely and speak them with conviction as once they are absorbed by your consciousness they too enter your subconscious where the power to change your life lies.

Your affirmations should be specific, not too long worded positively, formed in complete sentences, and worded in the present tense as if you have already achieved it.

I am

I AM…is the most powerful and influential way to start your affirmations. You are confirming to yourself, the universe and all around that which is already true. Before long, your reality will begin to match your life affirmation.

How To Use Positive Affirmations

  • Stand in front of a mirror look yourself in the eyes and take a deep breath in and slowly exhale.
  • Say your affirmation(s) slowly and clearly.
  • Repeat the affirmation(s) 2-4 times, really focusing on the meaning of each word.

I’m glad I came across this. This actually works. I used to say a few of these all the time (and staring in the mirror or just to myself in general) and eventually things just clicked.

Years later, and I still believe that some of these affirmations have helped big time. Especially “respected,” “creative,” and “energetic.”

Even now, I still use a few positive affirmations!

I’m happy my post was of some help to you Nate. Delighted to hear they work for you.

It’s good to shake it up abit also.

I agree, I have tried similar but longer affirmations. Not too much longer though.

I have noticed that I do feel better afterwards. But my problem is that I eventually stop doing them. I don’t know why, maybe it’s because I get tired of saying them over and over, or I forget.

Perhaps I should make myself do them until it becomes a habit?

I think whatever technique works for you should embrace, whether that is putting notes around the house or stuck to your mirror to focus the mind.  Before long they become engrained on your mind and the mantra rolls off the tongue.

The rewards far outweigh the initial efforts and are long-lasting, keep it up and you will reap the benefits.

Yes, affirmations make all the difference.

I learnt this without knowing as I learned the latest bits growing up.  They were always encouraging songs.  So I tend to sing when inspired.  But then it always puts me in a good mood and helps my body heal faster and put a smile on my face.

God is awesome too…he put affirmations before us when he said “Let there be light”. So I choose the light when inquiring about situations or challenges I face.  I also choose his ways above mine as He knows all things from beginning to end.

Since He was there first, and he always says He is a gracious and loving God, showing mercy to those who love Him and keep HIs word….How much more we?

Affirmations are great!  The more the merrier!

Thanks for sharing….

Glad you enjoyed this post Stella and you seem to have it fairly balanced in your life.

I too love to sing no matter what the genre, and it always leaves me feeling uplifted and in good spirits.  The power of music should not be under estimated.

It is so true! Positive self affirmations are so powerful!

Growing up, I wasn’t taught to be confident and believe in myself. I developed self-destructive patterns instead. I would hear sentences such as ‘you’re dumb’ etc…

Fortunately, I found another way and I had to learn to undo all the negative self-thoughts. Great to come across your post, it’s like a bowl of fresh air!!

Hi thanks for your comments. I’m glad you like my post and you have turned your own thinking around.

Perhaps the next you catch yourself talking negatively to yourself turn it around and add “yet” to the end of your thought, “I can’t do that thing….yet…”

Be kind to your mind 🙂

Now that’s one big positive post here!

I am sure there are a lot of people that find it stupid sitting in front of a mirror repeating words that mostly they don’t believe but everything has to do with practice. After a while when you repeat the same again and again you start to believe it. I know as I have done it a few times myself.

Positive affirmations can be a really powerful thing!

Thanks Stratos K, hah I did laugh at your comment about how people repeat words they mostly don’t believe, you keep repeating something long enough it becomes your reality, I’m a firm believer in the Law of Attraction!!!!

When someone asks me how I am? I automatically say I am very well thank you! And I am very well because that is all my body every hears…:-)

    Stay positive my friend!
